A few years ago we shot Anna’s wedding video at the Cypress Barn, but I wasn’t able to be there because I was photographing a wedding at another location. Well, for Leana and Andrew’s Cypress Barn wedding video, I finally got to visit this great location, and it was a wonderful day! Read more

There are always challenges when dealing with a wedding video. Sometimes you have to deal with bad lighting or a small venue. Other times you have really bad speeches or whatever. Mount Sequoyah wedding video: Reagan and Andy
Reagan and Andy are loved by so many people and really like to have a good time. This was probably the biggest party of 2017. I know for sure it was the largest wedding party. I believe there were 9 or 10 on each side! Then you had all the ushers as well. It was sure crowded with all the guys inside their cabin at Mount Sequoyah. Anyway, it was a real pleasure getting to be around these two and helping create their Mount Sequoyah wedding video. Read more
Wedding Film at Fairlane Station: Kylie and Derrick
Life is so interesting. Some people don’t believe in fate, but I’ve seen too many things line up and happen to not believe that things are happening for a reason. Kylie and Derrick’s wedding film at Fairlane Station was one of those situations.
Wedding Film at Fairlane Station: Kylie and Derrick
It all started when I randomly attended an open house at Fairlane Station. Some photographers had taken over running the place, so I wanted to meet them and see how things would be run now. Anyway, so there weren’t many people there, and I actually stood around doing nothing the majority of the time, but something special did happen.
A mother and the bride were there, and they came up to me. The mother asked my name. Turns out her father is a great family friend, someone I was around a lot as a child. He had this trailer up in Branson, and our family would take trips there and always stay in his trailer. Without his help, I’m sure we wouldn’t have been able to afford nearly as many trips.
After talking to them for awhile, I found out that they had a photographer, but video wasn’t really in there budget. Her grandfather had done so much for me as a child that I decided to do their wedding film for free.

I didn’t really know the couple, but I still enjoyed being part of their wedding day. Both Kylie and Derrick were extremely kind to me, and they made things easy. The wedding was a bunch of fun. I think my favorite part was the speeches. Sounds like Derrick use to be quite the handful back in the day. There was also a ton of dancing and everyone seemed to be extremely happy!
The film is a little different than what we normally do. She really just wanted the ceremony and the main events, so we just lined them all up for her to see.
I’m so glad I could help out Kylie and Derrick with their wedding film at Fairlane Station. It’s strange to think that if I hadn’t gone that night or if her mom hadn’t approached me, none of this would have happened. Fate, I’m telling you!
The Ravington Wedding Film: Roberto and Morgan
I consider it an honor to be hired for any wedding, but I feel it’s even a bigger honor to be hired by another photographer or videographer. That was the case with Roberto and Morgan’s Ravington Wedding Film. They had initially talked to me about doing the photography and videography, but in the end, we shot the video. I was fine with either way, just to be considered was a big pat on the back.
The Ravington Wedding Film: Roberto and Morgan
This wedding film was a bit different than our normal one. Normally we are around for several hours and capture the whole day, but for this one, we shot a little bit before and mainly the ceremony. I still love what we were able to get in that window.
Beforehand we were all hanging out at the Ravington. There were a lot of fun things going on. The guys decided to play a little game with Roberto. They asked him questions that Morgan had already answered, and he had to guess what she said. If he missed it, he had to stick a marshmallow in his mouth. Now, these weren’t your little tiny hot chocolate marshmallows; these were the giant fire-roasting ones. Roberto did pretty well, but after a few questions, his mouth was full and no one could understand him.
The girls, on the other hand, were much more mellow. They were hanging out in the beautiful Ravington bridal suite. They all had these matching plaid shirts on before they got dressed. Then Morgan got into her dress and it was awesome. We got some lovely shots of her in the window sill.
The lovely couple also did something very sweet. They each got something for the other. Roberto wrote Morgan a letter and gave her a pair of sunglasses and Morgan created this cool scrapbook with pictures and descriptions. I love when couples do something special like that.

We then raced off to the Mildred B. Cooper Chapel for the ceremony. They didn’t want to see each other before the ceremony, so instead, they held hands around the edge of the door to the chapel. One thing they did that I thought was neat was they started Morgan’s walk way back. They opened the doors and you could see her walking for a good 30 seconds. During the ceremony they also built a unity cross and had their friends surround them and pray. All very cool.
Our day ended with them exiting the chapel, but we still were able to make a really cool film for them. Take a look at their Ravington Wedding Film and see what you think.
St. Joseph Wedding Ceremony: Dan and Jennifer
I’ve said this a lot of times, but I’m so proud of what we do, and I believe what we do is so important. We help capture and preserve memories for people. Dan and Jennifer got married early in 2016, and we were mainly hired to do photography. When we got closer to the ceremony date, Jennifer decided that she wanted us to film her St. Joseph Wedding Ceremony.
St. Joseph Wedding Ceremony: Dan and Jennifer
Normally when we film a wedding, we spend at least 4 hours there. For Dan and Jennifer, we just did the ceremony. This was mainly because there was a special situation. Jennifer’s mother was not going to be there, but Jennifer wanted a way for her to experience the ceremony. The photos would show what happened, but the wedding film would be the best way for her mother to experience it like she was there without being there.

The ceremony took place at St. Joseph’s so it was a Catholic wedding. We put cameras up where we could, but it was still a challenge to get a good shot of the couple. The angle was a tough one, so when everyone stood, we couldn’t really see them. Other times it worked out though. In the end, we still were able to create something that showed off the whole ceremony.
I know this was a tough situation for Jennifer, just like it would be for anyone. Everyone dreams of having their parents at their wedding. Unfortunately, it just didn’t happen. I’m so happy we were there to film their St. Joseph Wedding Ceremony. I know nothing can replace having her mother there, but I hope that it helped the situation at least a little bit.
Magnolia Garden’s Wedding Film: Rachel and Austin
I love, love, love it when couples bring their personality into their weddings. I’ve seen a lot of people support their football teams with groom’s cakes or brides having decorations that fit who they are. Well, Rachel and Austin took it to a whole new level. Their personality was everywhere in their Magnolia Garden’s Wedding Film!
Magnolia Garden’s Wedding Film: Rachel and Austin
Rachel and Austin are self-proclaimed nerds. They love everything nerdy from superheroes, to Star Wars, to Lord of the Rings. They brought all of that to the wedding. First, Austin and all the guys were sporting superhero shirts under their tuxes. We did a fun photo with them all ripping open their shorts. The superheroes also made an appearance on Austin’s cake. He had several figures sitting on top. The vows were awesome. They made sure to put all types of references in there. Then, for their first dance, Rachel and Austin choreographed a light saber fight. How cool is that! Besides that, Rachel really likes rocks. I mean really likes them…like enough to study them, so she did something awesome. She made gifts out of all these different types of rocks. What a special way to remember her wedding!

Now, even though there were all of these crazy things going on, Rachel still had a beautiful day. Her dress was gorgeous and I loved all of the other decorations as well. She made sure she had a good mix of it all.

I love that Rachel and Austin know who they are and that they showed that off during their wedding. It makes the whole thing so much more personal and special. There’s no reason to have your wedding be like everyone else’s. They did a great job and I will always remember their Magnolia Garden’s Wedding Film.
Hazel Valley Ranch Wedding Film: Emily and Aidin
One great thing about offering photography and videography is that we can meet and help more couples. That was the case when we created Emily and Aidin’s Hazel Valley Ranch Wedding Film. I was already booked to photograph Diego and Melanie’s wedding, but we were still able to create a film for Emily and Aidin. We got to be at two amazing weddings at once!
Hazel Valley Ranch Wedding Film: Emily and Aidin
Emily and Aidin’s wedding day was amazing! It was a beautiful day at Hazel Valley Ranch, and the majority of their day took place outside. The ceremony was out in a field and the reception was on the outdoor patio.
Emily and Aidin wrote their own vows, which I just love. It always makes things so much more personal. It makes my job so much easier as an editor. Sometimes I don’t have enough audio, but that wasn’t the case here.
We had some great events to sprinkle in throughout the film as well. Emily and Aidin did a first look, there were some crazy dance entrances, some emotional dancing, and then something really special. At the end of the first dance, all of Aidin’s guys ran out and lined up, snapped a bottle, and Aidin kicked it like an extra point. He use to be a kicker back in college!

We had a ton of speeches! I want to say we had about an hours worth of speeches that night between all of the guys and girls and the fathers. We couldn’t fill it all into the film, but we found the best spots.
That wasn’t the end of the craziness. Near the end of our time there, Aidin’s father got down and proposed to his girlfriend. We had no idea it was coming, but we still managed to catch it.
Emily and Aidin’s Hazel Valley Ranch Wedding Film had some great parts. I really wish I could have been there to be part of it, but I’m still glad I got to live it through all of the video.
